Lauren was born and raised and Seattle, Washington. She has always been interested in all sports especially soccer. It was this passion for soccer that led to her first international medical volunteer work. She spent 1 year living in various areas of Africa doing AIDS education with Grassroots soccer. Following this year she began medical school at Touro University Nevada. She was pediatric trained for residency at Inova Children’s Hospital, and enjoyed it so much she was happy to stay for a further 3 years for fellowship. She continues to be as active as possible, playing multiple soccer games a week, road and mountain biking, and running whenever possible.
